Jimmie Lee Jackson, civil rights activist killed

Jimmie Lee Jackson, civil rights activist was shot while trying to protect his mother and grandfather during a protest demonstration led by Rev. C.T. Vivian. He was reportedly shot by Tropper James Bonard Fowler who surrended to authorities on May 10th, 2007.
