Wilma Rudolph Olympic Gold medalist Wilma Glodean Ruduolph Ward born in Clarksville, Tennessee. She won three gold medals in the 1960 Olympics in Rome. She became the first American woman to win three gold medals in track and field during a single Olympic Games. Ward was named Athlete of the Year in 1960 and 1961.
